What Should Tallahassee Eat? – Wendy’s

Wendy’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers (Apalachee Parkway) Review

By William Kristoph

I’m reviewing Wendy’s? Really? Yes, yes I am. Why? Because, I tried one of those pretzel-bun hamburgers a couple of weeks ago and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My wife and I grabbed a quick lunch at Wendy’s on Apalachee Parkway a few weeks ago and we both decided to grab a Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger. For a fast food hamburger, it was excellent thanks to that special bun! On top of that, Wendy’s seems to have received a new coat of paint and a big cleanup on the inside. It was a great improvement from my last trip there.

So what’s up with that Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger? Check it out.

My biggest complaint with a Wendy’s hamburger is the bun. It’s too soft and chewy and likes to get stuck in my mouth. So, as much as I like the flavor of their hamburgers, I tend to avoid them when I find myself at a Wendy’s. The pretzel bun solved all of the problems. The crust and the inside hold up much better to the grease fest that is a Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger. Every bite was as good as the next and I didn’t feel like I needed spray down my mouth when I finished eating.

You know what you’re going to get at Wendy’s. Combine that with the fresh paint and cleanliness and I’m happy to rate Wendy’s on Apalachee Parkway as “I like it” on Urbanspoon. If you need a quick bite and you’re itching for Wendy’s, the Parkway location is fast, clean and the pretzel burgers are worth a shot.
