Jersey Mike’s Subs (Mahan Drive, Tallahassee, FL) Review

Number 17 - Jersey Mike's Famous Philly
Sure, it might not look like much on a plate, but Jersey Mike’s Famous Philly has good bread, tasty meat and some awesome cheese sauce. It’s very good.

About one week ago, I finally tried Jersey Mike’s Subs for the first time. I took a short trip over to their new location at 3122 Mahan Drive, walked up to the counter and placed a To-Go order for a #17 Jersey Mike’s Famous Philly and a #56 Big Kahuna Cheese Steak. I went with the regular size on both subs, since the biggest one looked like it was huge based on the size of the bread. About ten minutes later I was ready to hit the road with my order.

As I drove, my car filled with the wonderful smells of the subs. It make a normally short drive, feel a lot longer while I itched to get home and chow down on my Famous Philly. Once I arrived, my wife and I unwrapped our subs. They were still piping hot. My Jersey Mike’s Famous Philly had above average chewy bread, very tasty meat, and well-cooked onions and peppers. It’s the second best Philly that I’ve tasted in Tallahassee. My wife’s Big Kahuna was even better. I skipped it the first time, since I was not in the mood for the jalapenos, however, they added great flavor and hardly any heat to the bite that I tried. I think I would go for the bigger, badder and better Big Kahuna the next time I head to Jersey Mike’s Subs.

I rated Jersey Mike’s Subs “I Like It” on Urbanspoon and I was finally able to cross it off of my wish list. I think it’s worth a try the next time you’re in the mood for a sub, especially if you’re craving a Philly Cheese Steak.
