What Should Tallahassee Eat? – Yogurt Mountain

Yogurt Mountain Review (Tallahassee, FL)

After my quick dinner before FSU Softball’s Opening Day last Friday, I wanted something sweet. Normally I prefer ice cream over frozen yogurt. Last Friday, though, I wanted to try out Yogurt Mountain since I had heard good things about it. I checked out Yogurt Mountain and was pleasantly surprised.

Yogurt Mountain is a self-service froyo shop. The counter weights your frozen yogurt plus toppings and sends you on your way. Is it my favorite way to get dessert? No, but it’s efficient. After looking around at my flavor options, I decided on Mint Chocolate. A couple of swirls around the container later, I looked at the toppings and chose Andes Mints and Oreo Cookies for a chocolatey, but refreshing mint experience.

I paid at the counter and was on my way in a total of under five minutes. Once I got back to the car, I took a couple of bites and was very happy with the smooth consistency of the frozen yogurt, its high level of sweetness (forget the tart stuff for me) and that I picked a couple of good toppings for my pregame dessert. I understand why Yogurt Mountain is a popular spot by FSU’s campus and I’d head there again over some of the other ice cream or frozen yogurt options on Tennessee Street.

I rated Yogurt Mountain “I like it” on Urbanspoon.
