What Should Tallahassee Eat? – The Crepevine

The Crepevine (Tallahassee, FL) Review

Savory Crepes? Who knew? Apparently everyone but me! Well, now I know and I’m glad that I have a new option for lunch that doesn’t require two pieces of bread. Recently, I decided to check out The Crepevine in Mid-Town Tallahassee. Thanks to a friend on Twitter, I drove over to The Crepevine to check out The Big Kahuna.

Parking is surprisingly not bad for a Mid-Town location. Upon entering, everyone behind the counter greeted me, and were ready to make my crepe! The friendly service offered up suggestions for The Big Kahuna (I asked what kind of cheese they recommend – cheddar) and I moved along the line to pay. I watch my crepe made in full view and I thought that it was pretty nifty how the whole thing folds up into a beautiful triangle. I paid, grabbed my chips and a drink and sat down to try The Big Kahuna.

Chicken, Ham, Bacon, (Cheddar) Cheese, Green Pepper and Honey Mustard wrapped in a warm crepe. I admit it, I was skeptical. One bite into a warm, sweet, salty and savory Big Kahuna crepe and I was hooked! The crepe was soft and chewy with a hint of sweetness, with a nice crust on the outside. It was the perfect wrap for The Big Kahuna’s ingredients. Paired with some crunchy chips and a drink and my lunch was hanging ten!

I rated The Crepevine “I like it” on Urbanspoon. It’s definitely worth a look for lunch! I’ll definitely be back soon to try another savory crepe and hopefully a sweet one this time too!
