A while back, my wife and I found a super cost-efficient solution to a traditional china cabinet. We found the Canopy Anywhere Console Table at Walmart.com. This piece of furniture was not only well-crafted and solid wood, but it was super easy to assemble. It technically a TV table (complete with some nifty wire management through the drawers), but with the drawers out it make an incredible dining room buffet. So, when our storage needs increased, our original thought was to grab another table.
As I was about to check out of Walmart.com though, the website made a suggestion. It thought I might want to check out the Canopy Tall 4-Shelf Bookcase that matched the console table. I showed my wife and we thought two of them would be a better option on either side of our current console table. Tons of storage and an exact match too! We ordered them and did the Site-to-Store option for shipping. Over the weekend, my father and I picked them and started to work on assembly.

My favorite part about Canopy furniture is that it’s solid wood, well-constructed and very easy to assemble. This bookcase assembly instructions is only 7 steps. That’s it. The parts are nicely packed together and easy to find. It doesn’t require any tools for assembly. It’s helpful to have a second pair of hands to steady the bookcase, but I’m confident that in a pinch I could assemble it on my own.
The bookcase is well packed in the box. Be prepared for the Styrofoam explosion that is about to take over your room though. The bookcase folds up on itself, meaning that the sides and the back are all one piece that fold out. It’s a very good, user-friendly design. Open that up, slide in the bottom two piece (they just slide on with clips) and it’s nearly halfway done. The top of the bookcase is really what holds it together and is held on by wood dowels and four hammered in pins. It feels very solid when complete. Add the shelves and the doors, and the bookcase is complete.
I encountered one issue with the bookcase that I decided to solve myself, even though I’m sure the 800 number would have been happy to help me. The doors of the bookcase did not want to stay closed. I don’t particularly like the pressure clip style of door lock, so I resolved this with a quick trip to Lowe’s for magnets. My dad and I put those in, put the bookshelves in place on either side of the console table and were quite pleased with our work. It’s a very easy process.

Final Thoughts About The Bookcase
I’m very happy with the overall value of these bookcases. Cheap door locks aside, it’s well worth the price and much better than similarly prices press-board furniture that dominates our stores. The console table was a perfect 5 star item. These bookcases are a definite 4 star item in my eyes. They’re not perfect thanks to the doors, but they are an excellent value and perfectly match our console table. I’d recommend the Canopy Tall 4-Shelf Bookcase to anyone looking for a sturdy and relatively inexpensive bookcase.
