The Cake Shop Is Tallahassee’s Best
The Cake Shop is my favorite bakery in Tallahassee. If I’m looking for a cupcake or some other sort of baked sweet, it’s where I head. No offense to the other places in town, but The Cake Shop is the best and worth the extra $0.25 or $0.50 per cupcake. The cake is always moist and flavorful, while the butter-cream icing is out-of-this-world smooth and sweet. The staff is always very friendly and very helpful. They greet each customer with a smile.
The Cake Shop also serves up all kinds of other sweets (full cakes, cookies, brownies, pies, etc.) that are also awesome. There are even tables if you can’t wait to get your cupcake home to eat it. It’s a nice feature for a bakery. Too many shops cram themselves into a tiny space. The Cake Shop offer baking lessons at their Cooking Corner and have room for children’s parties!
Mint Chocolate Cupcake
On this particular trip, I snatched a Mint Chocolate Chip Cupcake from the dozen assorted cupcakes that I bought. It was a bit of heaven in a cupcake. The chocolate cake is light and airy, but full of chocolate flavor. The top is a green mint butter-cream that leaves a wonderful fresh taste behind the chocolate. The chocolate drizzle and mint candy bar pieces are a nice touch for a bit of texture.
I don’t order dessert very often when I go out. The Cake Shop is so good, I’m happy to drive out of my way to get a cupcake there. The Cake Shop is listed as one of my favorites on Urbanspoon. It’s definitely worth a visit the next time your sweet tooth cries out for some relief!
