Charley’s Grilled Subs at Governor’s Square Mall Review
For fast food at Governor’s Square Mall, Charley’s is a solid choice and a welcome addition to the food court. Is it fine dining? Of course not. Is it fast, hot and fresh? Yes! The Governor’s Square Mall food court needed a place like this for quite a while. It’s been dominated by the standard fair too long, and I was very happy to see that Charley’s wasn’t another cold sandwich restaurant. The staff at Charley’s hustled. The grill tops and behind the counter area are super clean. The staff and manager were really friendly and everyone smiled.
Chicken Philly with Everything and Fries
I tried a Regular Chicken Philly with Everything and a plain old French Fries. Charley’s offers different sizes of sandwiches. I think it’s a great concept that more fast food restaurants should adopt where possible. The Chicken Philly was pretty good. It was hot and the vegetables were fresh, but it’s very heavy on the salt and the chicken is a shaved & processed chicken, not hearty chunks. The fries were a tad bit underdone for my liking, but definitely not the worst I’ve had. I’m interested in trying one of their other subs and one of the premium fries options (chili cheese, nacho, etc).
Oh and I can hear the cries of Tallahasseans; Charley’s served Pepsi products!
Would I seek out Charley’s across town? No. Is it a preferred option if I’m stuck at the mall? Yes, definitely. Overall, it’s a welcome addition to the mall and I’m sure I will try another sandwich in the future. I’ve voted Charley’s Grilled Subs as “I like it” on Urbanspoon.
