Old glory swaying in the breeze in Tallahassee, FL
(Yes I know I’m a day early, but I wanted to share some fun links the day before Independence Day.)
The Fourth of July in Tallahassee
I love Tallahassee and I love Tallahassee’s patriotism. Being a government and politically charged city, it’s easy to see why there are so many red, white and blue flags, streamers, banners and signs around. Happy Independence Day Tallahassee! No matter the reason for the patriotism, it’s nice to see and feel it. If you’re looking for something to do in Tallahassee for the 4th of July, check out the City of Tallahassee’s website for events at Tom Brown Park: Celebrate America 2012 – Talgov.com.
If you already have plans, well, enjoy those instead!

I leave you with one final thought for the rest of today and tomorrow’s holiday. We live in the greatest country in the world even when we struggle, even when our opinions are split 50/50, even headed into yet another series of mud-tossing political seasons. How do I know this?
What other country in the world would give us Christmas Cookies in July Ice Cream? Hmm? Nobody. USA! USA! USA!

Christmas Cookies Ice Cream was so popular before Christmas 2011 that I couldn’t find it anywhere in Tallahassee halfway through December. Blue Bell decided to give us some Christmas Cheer for Independence Day. Nicely played Blue Bell, nicely played.
